We saw a sneak preview of Naked & Famous Denim’s Glow in the Dark jeans a few months ago and love it when detailed shots of their newest creations appear on the net. Brandon Svarc and Co are true innovators in the denim world and it’s great to see them doing something a little different.
These 13.5oz Glow in the Dark jeans have to be one of N&F’s craziest creations so far. We’re pretty sure they won’t be to everyone’s taste but we thought we’d share them with you guys anyway. The jeans work through a phosphorescent coating to the denim in Japan. This coating is baked into the fabric, absorbing light and slowly releasing that light with an emanating green glow. After the jeans are beaten up a little, the wear patterns will cause the coating to fade in certain parts of the jean and will create a unique piece of glowing art. Before they can glow, the jeans need to be charged up in natural or artificial light but will also glow intensely under UV light (aka Blacklight).
Keep an eye out for more crazy inventions from Naked & Famous Denim next year, including Raspberry flavoured scratch and sniff denim?!
